Well last week the summer weather took advantage of
The Freedom Riders Of
Philadelphia. The hot 103 feeling temperature put The FRP out of a
trip last
week. But KYW is forecasting it to be nicer this week.
Sunday:
Hot and humid with hazy sunshine
High: 90° Real Feel: 92°
Low: 70° Real Feel: 78°
Sounds like good weather to bike ride in to me! The
only change made in the
ride was to be more specific, we are asking everyone to meet at the
Rita's
Water Ice in the Academy Plaza Parking lot at noon. We will make one
lap
around the parking lot to look for other riders just showing up at
12:30
before heading out on the regular route.
For days that we do not have the energy for the work
out of the regular
upstream Pennypack Park trip, there is an alternate downstream route
posted
on the Cue Sheets page. It seems longer but it is actually a more
relaxed
ride with one or two hills.
Along the way back to Academy Plaza, there is a small
convenient store where
FishBone sometimes stop to refuel on a bottle of water or two. The
possibilities of stopping there are pretty good depending on what
everyone
wants to do. Normally this trip takes him between 1.5 - 2 hrs to complete.
If you would like any information about the ride please
contact our ride
leader, Fish Bone Fisher at either this email address or by phone
at (215)
632-9269. If you are planning on joining The FRP trip this week please
contact FishBone so he has an idea of how many people to wait for.
Well that's about all for this week. If anything shall
come up concerning
the ride, we will send out news as soon as we get it. We hope to see
all of
you on the way to Pennypack Park.
